It was an early start for the Cudas as they played host to the Rainbows and Lions in Embrach one last time. The Cudas ended their regular season with a bang claiming 2 further victories ending 7–4 over the Bows and 19-4 over the sleeping Lions!

Following his success last week, the Cudas starting pitcher was Dani Tarantino who comfortably pitched the first 3 innings, striking out 2 and leading the Cudas to a 4-3 lead heading into the 4th inning. Spirits were high and even more so when Roman Eichmann made a 3 base hit with 2 outs in the bottom of the 3rd! Mladen Saracevic was next up with a base hit bringing Roman home.
Andi Höfler stepped up to the plate in the top of the 4th and pitched a perfect inning claiming 3 consecutive strikeouts!! The game was over in the top of the 7th as the 1st League Barracudas took their 8th victory.

The Cudas exhibited an offensive explosion in their final game of the regular season against the Lions as the runs just wouldn’t stop coming. Not only were their hitters on fire but they also had a solid defence making it a one sided assault on the ball field. Andi put himself into an early scoring position with a 2 base hit followed by masterfully stealing third base in the 1st. Wolfgang Kunther also took his slice of the action hitting the sweet spot for another 2 base hit in the 2nd. Consistency was the word of the day here as the 1 League scored 5 in the 1st, 6 in the 2nd and a very respectable 4 runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings where the game was brought to an end with a final score of 19-4!

At the end of the second game the 1.Liga Cudas sadly had to say good bye to second baseman Sandy Stein but of course no Barracudas send off would be complete without a quick, crushing dog pile followed up by an ice cold bucket shower!! Sandy will be well missed on second base in the 1st League’s line up and all the Cudas wish him good luck with his studies in the States!

The 1 League’s final season standings put them at the top of their division with 9 wins and just 3 losses making them a very strong competitor for the play offs later on this year.
